We are finally catching our breath as we near the end of November and see 2016 ahead of us. In the wake of so much darkness that has engulfed the world this year, we take comfort in knowing that our short film has touched viewers, offering moments of beauty and inspiration. The film came from a place of love and would not have existed without the generous donations made by our team of artists.
In October, director Jennifer Jessum traveled to Columbia, Missouri for the 2015 Citizen Jane Film Festival. The festival represented the voices of some of the top female filmmakers in the United States. Stephens College, host of the festival, organized a series of performance, screenings, and panel discussions that challenged and unveiled current trends in film. Check out Jennifer's participation in the CJ Film School's Pushing Boundaries discussion. We are proud to now call ourselves alumni Citizen Jane filmmakers and hope that the momentum created by this event yields new opportunities for all those women standing their ground in the film world.
November has gifted us an equal number of riches. The 2015 Eugene International Film Festival received prominent press attention, particularly as a result of the world premiere of American Gandhi. Red Earth Calling kicked off the evening for this highly anticipated event. Although we could not attend, we followed all the excitement remotely. Now, just this morning, we received the news that we have been granted the Best Art Short award, our sixth award since the film entered the festival circuit. There is more exciting news to come, but you will have to be patient. We are very good at keeping secrets.
